Food Transformation

Sliding Line
  • Exevion was brought in by a UK retailer to provide programme management expertise to deliver an extensive new food range. We worked on the project from the point they were creating recipes to rolling it out to stores.

    This was the largest transformation programme in the company’s history, and managing delivery at that scale is challenging for businesses. To ensure success, it was important to focus on some key aspects:

    • Clear Vision and Strategy: ensure a clear vision for the transformation, including the desired outcomes and objectives. Develop a strategy for how the transformation will be achieved;

    • Comprehensive Planning: develop a detailed project plan that outlines timelines, tasks, resource requirements, and dependencies;

    • Robust Governance: engage key stakeholders such as internal teams, agencies, and product suppliers to actively manage risks, issues, and dependencies.

  • Exevion was responsible for leading and delivering the product transformation over a 12-month period. This included on own-label product development, product lifecycle management, and launching the new range online and in stores.

    • Strategic Planning and Scope Definition: we defined the scope of the project with senior leadership and created a strategic plan. This included setting clear customer and business objectives, outlining milestones, and creating a project timeline.

    • Cross-Functional Team Management: we helped guide teams through the various stages of the project and facilitated effective communication across channels. This included coordinating across digital, eCRM, UX, PR, Content, and supply chain teams.

    • Risk Management and Problem-Solving: developed risk mitigation strategies to ensure the teams were prepared for unexpected issues that arose during the project. This meant that the products launched on time despite last-minute issues from suppliers.

    • Reporting: ensured visibility of milestones, completed tasks, and achievements toward meeting the project objectives. This meant that the team stayed aligned as it grew from 5 to 65 people before launch.

  • We delivered a successful launch, which resulted in the following:

    • A successful introduction of 500 new food and own-label products in the UK and Ireland;

    • Delivery of marketing and branding strategies improved the visibility and recognition of the launch in the UK and Ireland;

    • A clear communication plan kept all stakeholders informed and aligned, ensuring project success, reducing misunderstandings, and fostering a sense of unity among the team.

  • Building a transformation programme requires a strong project structure, a clear vision, and effective cross-function team management to launch new products into the marketplace and improve customer experience.

    At Exevion, we have extensive experience managing change across a range of industries and would love to hear how we can help you.
