The client, recently acquired by private equity, aimed to revolutionise the card payments landscape. However, significant challenges had to be addressed, including underperforming legacy suppliers, manual internal processes, cultural reluctance to adopt card payments, and integrating components from multiple companies across different countries. Additionally, the project had to compete with business-as-usual changes while overcoming workers’ council restrictions.

Budget and Backlog Management: Oversaw programme budgets exceeding €30M and prioritised backlogs to define the MVP and plan for future iterations
Vendor Selection and Technology Delivery: Conducted tenders to select vendors for critical areas and managed technology delivery with dispersed teams, introducing continuous integration/delivery practices
Operational Readiness: Transitioned the proposition from build to BAU operations using ITIL processes and established a post-launch monitoring dashboard
Collaboration and Process Improvement: Implemented collaboration tools and a SAFe-based working model for effective coordination across teams and locations
Testing and Customer Trials: Conducted extensive testing and ran trials with select customers to refine the platform and ensure market readiness
